Yapp Charitable Trust make grants to small registered charities to sustain their existing work, with one of its priorities being children and young people aged 5 - 25. Grants are normally for a maximum of £3,000 per year and most of their grants are for more than one year because they give priority to ongoing needs. For details visit: Yapp Charitable Trust.

Making local communities better

in

The David Knightly Pride of Place Awards are administered by the David Knightly Charitable Trust and are available to TSOs in England. The scheme aims to fund projects helping to make local communities better places to live. Projects supporting community groups will be prioritised. Contact Gillian Binks (0161 445 6452).

Goldsmith's Company

The Goldsmiths' Company are offering grant support for general charitable needs , ranging from disadvantaged in society and general welfare to the churches, culture and the arts.

Support for those who are marginalised and disadvantaged

in

The New Insights programme is provided and administered by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. It is available to UK projects that tackle the problems caused by the current economic, environmental and social situation for people who are marginalised or disadvantaged. The New Insights fund is designed to insulate vulnerable communities at risk from the current economic climate and public spending reductions, and help them to overcome these obstacles. The application deadline for funding proposals is 12pm on 02 August 2010.

Lloyds TSB Foundation Funding

Lloyds TSB Foundation for England & Wales is pleased to announce its increased income for 2010 as £25.24m (£20.8m in 2009) and is delighted to confirm that this higher level of funding will be sustained for 2011, 2012 and 2013.


The independently run Foundation is keen to hear from registered charities working across Blackburn, Rossendale, Wyre and Fylde who can demonstrate how their work is making a difference to the lives of disadvantaged people, and helping them to play a fuller role in the community.

Big Lottery Fund to launch £200m fund for community groups

The Big Lottery Fund will launch a new £200m grant fund for neighbourhood-based community groups. The fund, called Big Local, will award grants to voluntary groups in 50 geographical areas that have traditionally not received much money from BIG in recognition. These areas will be announced later this month.

Injuries caused by accidents such as falls, trips, accidents resulting from tools/machinery, drowning, exposure, burns and scalds.
