It supports organisations which provide aid or support to a defined group of needy or deserving people, for instance those with physical or mental disabilities or the disadvantaged. Communities in need

The Big Lottery Fund's Reaching Communities fund support projects that help people and communities who are most in need, and can really make a difference. It funds revenue projects of between £10,000 and £500,000 and/or capital projects up to £50,000. Projects can be new or existing activities, or be the core work of your organisation. A decade of Social Action

The Cabinet Office plans to launch a new Centre for Social Action in April 2013. Over two years the Cabinet Office will invest around £36m to support organisations who want to mobilise people to take part in social action. Within the Centre for Social Action, Nesta will run a new Innovation Fund, extending its existing work and support of innovative social action initiatives.

Lancashire Arts Development - Cultural Drivers Funding for 2013/14

The application Process for Lancashire Arts Development - Cultural Drivers Funding for 2013/14 is now open. The deadline for applications is: 5pm on 18 February 2013 and this will be the only round in 2013/14. Lancashire Arts Development Grants are available to organisations who can provide a quality arts programme that engages the people of Lancashire and contributes to the arts provision and infrastructure in the county. Potential applicants are advised to read all guidance and supporting documents before completing an application.

Lancashire Carers Small Grants funding 2013

Lancashire County Council's Carers Team is inviting voluntary, community and faith sector (VCFS) organisations to apply for funding to pilot and test out innovative projects to support carers in Lancashire. The Carers Small Grants process is now open, and organisations are invited to apply for funding (the closing date for applications is 1 March 2013).

People's Postcode Trust Small Grants

in

The People's Postcode Trust Small Grants scheme is open to applications until 15 February. Bids can be for £500 to £10,000 in the following areas: prevention of poverty; promote, maintain, improve and advance health; advance citizenship or community development; advance public participation in sport; promote, improve and advance human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation; and, promote and advance environmental protection or improvement.

Young people running community change projects

Starbucks Youth Action supports community change projects run by 16-24 year olds. It provides up to £200 for young people to improve their local communities in 10 cities across the UK & Ireland. The deadline for applications is 9am, 4 March 2013. Visit: www.ukyouth.org

Community and environmental projects

The Biffa Award's Small Grants Scheme has increased the upper limit of the scheme from £5,000 to £10,000 in the hope this will allow smaller-scale projects with a total project cost of less than £30,000 to get off the ground more quickly. Galaxy Hot Chocolate Fund

Community sport

in

Sport England have launched a new scheme, The Community Sport Activation Fund. The £40 million found will support grassroots activity at a very local level over the next four years. It will support: activities reflecting a broad range of sports; informal opportunities which could lead to regular participation; multi-sport activities; family orientated activities with a focus on 14 plus age group; local activator roles that focus on directly organising and delivering new opportunities for participation.
