Young Lancashire is running a series of six workshops across Lancashire to provide people interested in running a group in the community with support and information as part of a countywide support programme funded by the County Council under the ONE Lancashire banner.

A Garden Fit for Heroes Back in 1983 three courageous police constables lost their lives attempting to rescue a drowning holidaymaker on the Blackpool coast. Their bravery - and that of all of the emergency services - is recognised by the new Blue Light Memorial. But its location - Jubilee Gardens - needs an urgent makeover. We want to create a garden fit for heroes, tourists and local residents alike.

Young Person of the Year 2014

The Young Lancashire "Edward Dickson" Award is for a young person whom you believe has made a most positive choice about themselves and their community this year. Nominations (from Young Lancashire Full Members) are now open for this year's Award and forms have been posted to all Members. The next voluntary sector briefing meeting (VCFS CYP Ref Group) taking place on Wednesday 9 July, 1.30-4pm, Woodlands, Chorley, will be on European Funding. John Hacking, Network for Europe, will present information on the ‘EU Structural and Investment Funds Strategy’ for Lancashire. Interest from the VCFS is expected in the delivery of this fund, e.g.
