Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice
Course Content:
Comprising 23 credits - 17 credits from the Mandatory Units and a minimum of 6 credits from the Optional Units (which will be provided during inductions).
Course Structure:
Learners have to demonstrate their practical abilities and their understanding on all aspects of the course, as follows:
- Course attendance: 24 weeks - usually 6:30pm - 9:00pm one evening each week
- Youth work: At least 80 hours across the course
- Assessment: An assessor will be assigned to each student, who will work with the student to develop action plans for compiling the portfolio of evidence, and carry out observations of their youth work and assessments of their portfolio.
- Portfolio building: Each student will need to gather evidence of his or her learning and practice. The evidence will be generated through the youth work activities the student delivers as part of their practice; work tasks given as part of hte course and the assessments carried out by the Assessor.
This course will commence on Monday 18 June, from 6:30pm - 9:00pm, at Thursby Gardens, Burnley.
This event can be offered free of charge to all Young Lancashire member organisations as it is fully funded by Lancashire County Council Central Gateway Funding (maximum 2 people per organisations). For people wishing to attend out side of our network, the cost is £275 per person, and this includes registration and assessments.
