Young women on an outdoor residential

Investment through the Commissioned Outcomes Funding from the Young People's Service helped to support young people's participation in an outdoor activities residential. The young women, from Jamea Masjid youth group based in Avenham, Preston, enjoyed a range of team building activities, learnt new skills and experienced the benefits of working together as a group by building on their strengths. Youth worker with the group Fayyaz Ali, commented "We were successful in securing the funding from the Young People's Services as part of a Voluntary Youth Services Consortium lead by Young Lancashire on behalf 30 front-line groups across Lancashire. The consortium approach really works for us and means that we can get on with delivering quality work without spending lots of time dealing direct with funders".
