Parenting Programme - Preston

Parenting Early Intervention PROJECT (PEIP); invitation to apply for grant funding. The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) provides grant funding for local authorities to deliver a Parenting Early Intervention Project (PEIP). The purpose of a PEIP is:

 ‘To increase targeted support for parents of 8 – 13 year olds at risk of negative outcomes, to ensure they receive a co-ordinated package of relevant support at an early stage, including the delivery of evidence based parenting programmes.’  (DCSF)                            
 
In Lancashire, the PEIP is primarily focussed in the Preston district and has been delivered for the last few months through two voluntary sector organisations. The current contracts end on 30 April 2010 and Lancashire County Council now wish to grant fund a new, full year contract to run from 1 May 2010 to 30 April 2011. Applications for this grant funding are invited from third sector organisations. The following documents are attached:
