Victorious Girls Brigade win a Wii!

The Girls Brigade are about to get very fit now they have been succesful in winning a Nintendo Wii Sports Package. Janet Turner (of the Girls Brigade, Hyndburn) won the prize as a result of completing Young Lancashire's Big Sector Survey.

Celebrities join trustee awareness campaign

Newsreader Jon Snow and cricketer Andrew Flintoff are among the names lending their support to the first annual Trustees’ Week, designed to increase awareness of the role. Other celebrities on board include journalists Eve Pollard and Martyn Lewis, model Natalia Vodianova and actresses Brooke Kinsella and Jenny Seagrove.

Third Sector Event To Mark The Start Of Big Sector Lancashire

A Lancashire based organisation is hosting a high profile event, aimed at third sector and public sector organisations, to discuss the sectors’ futures under the new Government.

The event is organised by Third Sector Lancashire, a consortium of voluntary organisations dedicated to improving the effectiveness of the voluntary sector by providing information, support, advocacy and an online network to encourage joined up working.

Consultation extended on the new CAMHS Service - Have Your Say!

The draft Lancashire wide CAMHS service specification is now out for consultation. The final version once agreed, will serve the basis of the new service specifications across Lancashire. The transition document into adult mental health services is also available for consultation. The CAMHS PIG (Project Implementation Group) was assigned the task of redesigning the CAMHS specification in response to the Joint Area Review.

Invitation to tender: Lancashire County Council CYP Appropriate Adult Services

Expressions of interest are invited by Lancashire county council from suitably experienced agencies to provide appropriate adults services for children and young people. Contract period 01/10/10 to 30/09/13 (with option to extend for a period not exceeding 2 years).
