Members of the Young Lancashire team rubbed shoulders with royalty on 18 February at a reception celebrating being positive about youth. Hundreds of young people, supporters and youth workers gathered at St James’s Palace to join UK Youth’s centenary celebrations hosted by the charity’s Patron, Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal.

Young Lancashire’s Chief Officer Graham Whalley, Trustee Pam Beswick and Young Person of the Year Ghulam Ullah, joined the celebrations which included: celebrities, sports personalities, business people and politicians who had committed themselves to UK Youth as Centenary Ambassadors increasing awareness of being Positive about Youth. Chief Officer, Graham Whalley, said: “This was a great celebration of the many reasons to be positive about young people and it was great to see hundreds of people gathering to recognise their achievements. “As an organisation we are Positive about Youth - young people’s achievements and contribution to our community’s show that we can all benefit from the value our young people add.”
